Everything we do affects us all

Obama's steady hand has guided us well in the Middle East.

This Washington Post article represents the dumbest analysis of international relations I have ever read.
"The United States has made the same mistake in evaluating fighters from the Islamic State that it did in Vietnam — underestimating the enemy’s will, according to James Clapper, the director of national intelligence."

Response-
Saving South Vietnam was a hopeless cause and we put infinitely too much effort into it. There should have been no 'war' in Vietnam for the US. And our only mistake in Iraq was going there in the first place. Having done that, leaving as gingerly and honorably as possible is our best overall strategy. it was brilliant strategy on the part of president Obama not to keep US forces there indefinitely because it showed the world that we were no longer the evil occupying power the Bush administration had made us. Therefore, when the inevitable challenges came to the region (all caused by the vacuum we created by killing S Hussein) the whole world is now willing to join with us again, as they did in Afghanistan. President Obama has regained respect for the USA in the eyes of the world and our renewed coalitions give hope for a better future.

The rest of the world is LAUGHING at us! Considering the actions of Putin, and the fact that France is our only ally in the effort to "control" ISIS, Obama just sprayed a hornet's nest with Windex...again. You don't win wars that way! Obama has NO military experience to begin with. This is not the Bush administration, and Hussein is in hell. We have an open border -- allowing our enemies, INCLUDING ISIS, to step into our borders freely. We have a schoolboy Commander-in-Chief who turns a deaf ear to our experienced Generals (not to mention half of Congress) -- who say we need much more strategy and military involvement...while Obama has WEAKENED our military. That's just scratching the surface! You need to get your head out of Obama's orifice long enough to see the train wreck that is about to take place, if we don't get people in charge who know what the hell is going on, and have the balls to act in a strategic way! This isn't Vietnam we're dealing with!! This is an enemy who is committed to stop at nothing to make sure the world is under the iron fist of Muslim rule! "Progressive politics"...maybe in Alice In Wonderland. Judging from what is REALLY going on in the world, you liberals need to get your head out of Obama's orifice long enough to get the big picture of where we are headed! You WILL be sorry I assure you! Sad part is: that the rest of us will have to go into the fire with you once this all backfires. And you'll still be blaming Bush. Stupidity knows no bounderies with you liberals, does it?
