THE BIG LIE IN THE REPUBLICAN DEBATE

Celebrate not my fellow Democrats; as out of touch as this Republican field may seem to be with the times we're in and the troubles we're facing, they do have one great strategy to defeat us. That strategy is to tell the biggest lie in American history about our present tax rates and how they compare to the rates we've had since the Great Depression. And the really frightening thing is that all the major networks seem to have decided to let them get away with it.

Over and over they say things like "We ended the Depression by lowering tax rates after WWII." and no moderator yet will step forward with the simple follow up..."But sir, our upper tax rates for the most wealthy stood between 70% and 90% from 1940 to 1980. We did lower them to 76% in 1964, but that's still double what they are today on wealthy Americans and by 1964 America was twenty years into a recovery and the greatest growth spurt the world had ever seen."

WILL ANYONE EVER ASK THE QUESTION...
Please explain how and why America did so well from 1940-80 with taxes double to triple today's rates on the rich; why are higher rates on the rich a bad idea?
