These protesters have nothing to do with the peaceful protests for democracy in Egypt as they didn't in the previous Iranian protests. Here's why...
1. The Egyptian protesters numbered in the hundreds of thousands to a million or more. These Iranian protesters barely reach 100.
2. Despite the massive scale of the Egyptian protests the protesters remained ENTIRELY NON-VIOLENT. Meanwhile the Iranian protesters began burning cars and breaking windows FROM THE VERY START! That is what they did before too.
3. Despite the Iranian protesters claim that their presidential election was rigged, the results reflected those of all polls done before the election.
To conclude: There is every reason to believe that the Iranian protesters are part of a neo-con/Israeli-Likud Party conspiracy.

ReplyDeleteWhat does that mean?
There has been a steady drumbeat for military action against Iran from neo-conservatives and the hard right (Likud Party). In my opinion such action is entirely uncalled for and would be even more uncalled for than was the Iraq invasion.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see protests in Iran which begin with violence and provocation I smell a fish. I think the same people who drummed up the false facts to push us to attack Iraq are behind these non-populist protests.
Chip, still goin with that barely 100 thing? Clown.
ReplyDeleteCORRECTION:
ReplyDeleteTHIS POST HAS BEEN EDITED IN ORDER TO CLEARLY DELINEATE THAT THE ACCUSATIONS OF FOUL POLITICAL PLAY WERE AIMED AT THE LIKUD POLITICAL PARTY IN ISRAEL AND ITS LEADERSHIP AND NOT THE NATION AS A WHOLE BY ANY MEANS OR VOTERS OF ANY PARTY.
Rachel Maddow doesn't seem to aggree with you. She saying that the protest in Iran is very large.
ReplyDeleteI basically agree with Rachael's politics, I like her, I'm glad she's there, but she's often childish and naive.
ReplyDeleteI remember well her version of the state of the Union made to rebut the president...Every other sentence had the word 'trillion' in it as if she had a golden goose.
Anyway, it is incontrovertible that Iran is the most peaceful and democratic of all Arab states. I even include Iraq in that statement, because their society has been so disrupted and is still very violent and chaotic.
Frankly the economy and level of civility in Iran is far greater than that in Israel's occupied territories.
"childish and naive"?!?!? How laughable coming from a site littered with whiny playground taunts and extreme "know-it-all"ness. Pot meet the kettle!
ReplyDeleteChip -- thanks for the clarification.
