RADIO MONARCHY
TIME FOR FAIRNESS
TIME FOR FAIRNESS
AM hate radio is monopolized (literally) by ultra conservative thought and is really a Land of Lies, fantasies of the right. They have re-written American history and have millions of decent people brainwashed. They literally refuse to ever have any honest progressive minded people on their networks with their own show, not even as a guest. They have their phony neo-con lying sheep like Alan Colmes, Juan Williams and Pat Cadell and they try to convince their audience that these transparent con-men really are liberals who have given up on the Democrats for valid reasons.
They are the WWF of political discourse along with Fox News...pure rightwing propaganda.
Knowing full well that despite the fact that Georgia is conservative statewide, in Athens and Atlanta the majority of people are liberal Democrats and these areas are true Blue in every election...Therefore according to the theory that pure capitalism will take care of free speach it should be obvious that a liberal radio host like Jeff Santos from Boston or Ed Schultz or Al Sharpton, or Carl Wolfsohn form Portland could be syndicated into these markets and be profitable, the same way Boortz is on the air in rural conservative areas around the country.
But when I have repeatedly approached WGAU, WSB and Cox broadcasting to ask for a simple dollar mark in ad revenue that they would require to broadcast one of these shows they balk. I say, 'tell me what your ad revenue is for the 6-9pm slot because I know dozens of business owners who are interested in sponsoring a liberal talk show' and they say straight up 'no we're not interested'.
The truth is that even if they could make more money with a real liberal in that slot in terms of ad revenue, they know the politics of the host would call for their corporate ownership to be taxed at a higher rate so they refuse.
NOW WSB HAS BOUGHT 95.5 THE BEAT TO SIMPLY REPLAY THE SAME IDENTICAL PROGRAMMING AT THE SAME TIME TO THE SAME PEOPLE...THIS IS BRAINWASHING!
This is a bastardization of capitalism and the denial of free speech and a mis-use of our public airwaves, it is a radio-monarchy and it is time for the FCC to step in.
For every 10 hours of partisan broadcast on any station there should be one hour set aside for rebuttal and this should be enforced by the FCC. The arbiters of who does the rebuttal should be made up of a bipartisan group representing the RNC and the DNC and this should be enforced by the FCC.
