Dear President Trump and Media outlets,
I would like to communicate with you, but my Twitter account has been "permanently deleted" for a year now and they have told me I am not allowed to create a new account. I know this might seem like a good thing if you assume I am some Russian spammer negatively influencing the American electorate, but I am not. I am politically active and the things I have posted on Twitter (that got me banned) are the exact same as posts I have made on my Facebook page and Washington Post accounts without issue.
If you think about it I'm sure you'll agree that it is socially crippling in the modern world to not be able to follow or communicate with politicians, journalists etc. on Twitter. While Facebook does a good job of 'rehabilitating' offenders of their posting guidelines by pointing out what the offensive post was and asking the user to remove it (then usually giving a period of defined suspension) this is not the case with Twitter.
Roughly a year ago Kanye West tweeted that "Slavery was a choice" and I was so offended that I tweeted "That makes you Trump's house slave". That same day West briefly deleted his own Twitter account, simultaneously Twitter suspended me permanently. A few days later West reactivated his account, but Twitter never gave me that chance and still refuses to tell me specifically why my account was suspended, only 'using for bad purposes' or something like that.
Considering that Twitter has become the defacto 'formal' means of communicating for our president and congress and journalists, I believe that I am being denied my basic civil rights.
