The cover of a supermarket tabloid may be the single most visible object of public architecture in our society and David Pecker, the owner of almost every tabloid we see, this man has accepted immunity for the crime of fraud in campaign financing fund raising for using his tabloid empire to buy negative stories from Trump accusers and never publish them.
Sure Pecker printed endless lies about Hillary and that is actually legal. And Trump could have legally paid Pecker's sources himself. Trump could have paid off people privately as a private citizen as he has seemingly done his whole career. But Trump as a candidate was and is subject to different rules.
If Trump or Pecker or anyone spends money on behalf of a presidential campaign in the USA they are legally required to report it. Pecker appears to be giving evidence that he and the president purposely planned not to report Pecker's donations. Therein lies the rub.
