The House wants to fund everything but the communist government takeover of health care known as "ObamaCare".
ReplyDeleteThe corrupt communist Harry Reid said "no". The incompetent, corrupt communist Obama said "no".
The communist democrats don't care about anything but power and wealth. They hate you. They hate me and they loathe the middle class.
Hey, Genius, you know that ObamaCare is a *Republican* concept, right?
ReplyDeleteNo, it's not. Something similar was advanced by the Heritage Foundation but the author retracted it shortly afterwards. Besides, ObamaCare is nothing but a stealth takeover of health care. The government tells insurance companies what they must cover, what kinds of plans to offer, what treatments will be covered and how much they may charge. Insurance companies are simply a middleman. The goal is to get rid of them completely and have "single payer". This results in resources being saved for the young and productive while care for the chronically ill and aged is withdrawn. Like Obama said, instead of life saving or extending surgery just give those folks a pain pill.
DeleteThe government now controls virtually everything. There is nothing you can do today that isn't taxed, regulated or controlled by the government. They hope to gain complete control by passing more laws and regulations claiming "global warming". The left can control everything you do claiming some harm to the environment.
"No, it's not. Something similar was advanced by the Heritage Foundation but the author retracted it shortly afterwards. Besides, ObamaCare is nothing but a stealth takeover of health care."
DeleteI don't care if the Heritage Foundation retracted the insurance mandate 10 seconds afterwards. It was still their idea. Newt Gingrich was for the insurance mandate before he was against it. ObamaCare was also modeled after something Mitt Romney passed in Massachusetts. Last time I checked, Romney was a Republican. So it's a Republican idea. Don't try to deny it.
"The government tells insurance companies what they must cover, what kinds of plans to offer, what treatments will be covered and how much they may charge. Insurance companies are simply a middleman."
The government made a deal with insurance companies: follow certain rules in exchange for a captive market. Those insurers that liked the deal participated in the exchanges. Those that didn't like the deal, like Aetna, didn't participate in the exchanges. Prices on the exchange are set by the market in any one state.
People want insurance. The heavy traffic on Healthcare.gov and other state exchange websites isn't all from Teabaggers trying to crash the servers.
"The goal is to get rid of them completely and have "single payer"."
I wouldn't worry about that. Single payer will never happen in this country on a nation-wide basis. There aren't the votes in Congress for that. Never have been, never will be. Besides, proponents have to prove that it's more affordable for government and for the people. They haven't been able to do that. They tried for years in California, but couldn't come up with the numbers. Thus far, only Vermont has made the case for single payer. A few more states may follow suit over the years. That's about it.
"This results in resources being saved for the young and productive while care for the chronically ill and aged is withdrawn."
You have heard of Medicare, right? People like you tried to fight it back in '65 using the same arguments. Now, any politician who tries to mess with it is politically dead. Are you going to turn down Medicare when you're eligible, because it's a communist program?
"Like Obama said, instead of life saving or extending surgery just give those folks a pain pill."
Where/when did he say that? Quote, please.
"The government now controls virtually everything. There is nothing you can do today that isn't taxed, regulated or controlled by the government."
You should have moved to Somalia. There was no centralized government until a few years ago. Watch out for pirates!
"They hope to gain complete control by passing more laws and regulations claiming "global warming". The left can control everything you do claiming some harm to the environment."
What does global warming have to do with health care?
"So it's a Republican idea. Don't try to deny it".
ReplyDeleteActually it's not. Romney may have provided the basic framework but the democrat legislature made a number of changes to Romney's basic plan that turned it into a mini-Obamacare. Romney had vetoed eight sections of the democrat plan but they overrode his veto. It was, and is today ... democratcare. What little of Romney's basic plan that got past democrats is meaningless.
"The government made a deal with insurance companies: follow certain rules in exchange for a captive market. Those insurers that liked the deal participated in the exchanges. No. The government has determined what plans insurance companies must offer and what they cover. It doesn't only apply to companies participating in exchanges ... it applies to all. That why many policies are no longer any good and why prices have shot up. You can't just a simple catastrophic plan, it has to cover virtually everything. In addition, many states have set price limits on plans. Insurance companies are controlled in everything they do. They're simply a proxy for the government.
"People want insurance".
People want free shit. Too many people think Obamacare is free. Too many have no idea they'll have to pay a fine. Too many have no idea the IRS runs Obamacare.
"I wouldn't worry about that. Single payer will never happen in this country on a nation-wide basis. There aren't the votes in Congress for that. Never have been, never will be. The majority of people don't want Obamacare yet here we are. Unless you haven't figured it out ... it doesn't matter what the people want. It only matters what progressives want. If they want single payer they'll push for it and ram it down out throats like Obamacare. I'm sure in the near future you'll start hearing democrats talk about a "fairer" system for health care.
"You have heard of Medicare, right? People like you tried to fight it back in '65 using the same arguments. Now, any politician who tries to mess with it is politically dead. Are you going to turn down Medicare when you're eligible, because it's a communist program?"
There won't be a "medicare" in the future. Get it? It'll be too easy for democrats to justify a single payer system. One that rations health care.
"Where/when did he say that? Quote, please".
Look up Obama and pain pill.
"You should have moved to Somalia. There was no centralized government until a few years ago. Watch out for pirates"!
I'm not anti-government. I am against the government controlling every aspect of my life. Surely you know what the American dream is ... right? It's not a house, or a job, or a spouse. It's being able to pursue life, liberty and happiness free from government coercion. We are more oppressed today than the colonists were under King George, especially if you're not the right political persuasion and dare let someone know. I live near the ocean. I cannot go down to the beach anymore and just throw a line in the water. I must have a state and NOAA permit. Understand? I can't even go fishing without some government bureaucrat authorizing it. If I'm caught without a permit I get fined.
"What does global warming have to do with health care"?
Everything. It's simply another avenue to gain power and control by using the environment as an excuse.
