I commented on Jamie Dupree's Facebook page that I aimed to emulate Huey Long and Martin Luther King in my political activism. This guy replied that it was a 'good thing' Huey Long was assassinated and he acknowledged that I was of his ilk. How's that for a HI TECH LYNCHING? I don't like to be talked to this way and I am posting it here to make a formal record as I know the comment might disappear from FaceBook any time now. Here it is...And don't tell me just to block this guy when he threatens my life. This comment exemplifies the irrational hatred from the far-right today...

Huey Long was shot down like the socialist dog he was, His level of corruption makes Obama's Chicago kabal look like a bunch of Boy Scouts. Chip, if he is your idol then you need to start wearing a hat in the sun to save what brains you have left. I recommend that you read Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand as it is likely to become true. Our President is breeding a culture of moocherism that will destroy this country. As for you being a foil To Neal Boortz and replacing Royal Marshall, I suggest you keep your day job and hope you get moved from fries to the drive thru so that you might earn a little more by dipping and ringing since all of your political heroes can not keep their hands out of hard working Americans pockets.

It takes a whole lot of hate to say to anyone what this character said to you, Chip--a whole lot of hate. And, since I suspect you and I both live in GA, I know you know that a lot of Georgians would agree with him. Please watch your back because these people will go to any lengths to destroy anyone who doesn't believe/think what they believe/think.

DeleteI think the best thing to do is not engage these folks in hatespeech myself, but I will highlight it when I see it. I'm a Georgian and I'm sure too small a fish to be worth the risk of someone attacking me; What concerns me most is that this isn't a personal attack from someone towards me specifically, it is someone justifying assassination of elected political leaders based on their being 'socialists'. I take this as a serious potential threat towards our democratically elected leaders.
It's a sad shame and I know that most people wouldn't think it was acceptable to talk this way if they didn't have such perfect role models on the AM airwaves of Cox Broadcasting. Our free speech laws allow an awful lot and when Limbaugh etc. describe Democrats and our president as 'radical socialists bent on America's destruction' people like Mr. Westlund get the message loud and clear.
My only question to Westlund is: Where is all this corruption you speak of coming from the Obama Administration? All the scandals that have come out have been manufactured by the Republicans.

I know it well. Her philosophy was essentially 'Nirvana through selfishness'. A Nirvana of gated communities, homeless elderly people and undemocratic fiefdoms. She would have been happy at Caesar's side.

I don't want them censored, but it's not right that corporate radio isn't forced to offer up some kind of alternative voice.
In Mr. Westlund's defense, we are inundated with this nonsense hatespeech and many decent people have been literally brainwashed into buying a totally fake version of history.
