Many on the Left are so overwhelmed by their fear of a corporate tyranny that they give up completely and turn on our own liberal leaders for their 'corporate ties'.
Corporations have lost thousands of battles in America over the last 200 years over issues like Slavery, Voting Rights, Workplace Safety and Environmental Standards. That's what led them to push for free trade with totalitarian states like China to avoid the burden of good laws they failed to kill. They won that fight and yes, they are trying now to win others, but we don't beat them by being so i...dealistic that we demonize the good guys with the bad. This nation started as part of a literal monarchy, the ultimate corporate state. And every government leader who led us out of that state, from the revolutionary war, to the civil war to FDR and LBJ was 'tainted' by corporate money. It's good to fight to limit corporate control, but it's self defeating to demand purity in order to engage. What has Buddy Roemer accomplished except to make a lot of liberals feel so guilty about their leadership that they give up and support no one energetically?
Don't take the bait my fellow Lefties! Find the best leader you can among the 'tarnished' diamonds in the rough and clean them up and work work work to get them elected! N O W BABY ! 11 MONTHS AND COUNTING!
