The time has come to expose the lies of the far right who have taken over Republican politics. They try to say that focusing on tax policies that America prospered with from 1940-1980 is somehow un-American. What the hell kind of a lie is that? These taxation rates which the USA endured during those four decades are exactly what afforded us the right to be the most efficient high productivity nation on earth and to lead the world in innovation and manufacturing capacity at the same time. The way we did that was to have the best roads, bridges, rail, communications systems and the best educated population and retirement system of any large nation on earth! And there was no way for us to pay for all that without having the tax rates that we had then. And that was higher taxes on the super rich.
But today's Republican party is dominated by people who tell us that everything I just said is the reverse of the truth. They try to convince people that the tax rates we had during the most prosperous four decades in American history are exactly what was 'holding us back'? And since we adopted their polar opposite tax policies in the 1980s we have only been held back by not lowering taxes on the rich even more than they already have..?
There is no evidence in the taxation and economic records of the United States of America to support their claims and yet they try to tell us that we are some kind of evil unAmerican fascists for talking about our recent prosperous past?
Who the hell are these hateful weirdos?
It's time for real Americans to put our shoulders to the wheel before these corporate Republicans take over. The hateful Republican radio hosts love to use the term 'useful idiots' to describe followers of these old fashioned democratic values of all Americans paying a 'fair share'. And yet what better term could there be for a person to believe in people who actually talk about the idea that an individual human being doesn't deserve the right to vote, except by monetary means. Neal Boortz and other Republican radio hosts actually argue for this.
God bless America.
