Everything we do affects us all

high time we end the drug war

high time we end the drug war!
The one bright spot in this bubbling cauldron of a world is that there is something which we could do that would create a lot of jobs and cost no tax money, but bring in tax revenue and save billions of dollars in government expenditures. That's here in the USA and world wide.

One little thing...we turn over control of illegal drugs to the medical community and not the law enforcement community. If we simply allow doctors to have access to the popular 'nature-based' drugs, which are marijuana, coca and poppy. Doctors who choose to could administer well chronicled pharmaceutically pure controlled amounts of the drugs which addicts are presently buying on the streets from the criminal underworld.

The medical community needs to decide when someone needs counseling and to have a legal control mechanism (through being legally medicated).

This would be like a giant jet engine slowly stopping and going in reverse, as hundreds of billions of dollars dry up in the criminal world while so much more is partaken of by legal society. And there is no price catch to this scheme.

The prescribed and controlled drugs would cost a fraction of the price the criminal world charges for them. They are cheap to produce.
And finally...this is not giving up on the addict/user, person. They are infinitely more likely to become healthy and clean and productive citizens if they are forced to get checked out by a doctor and have some level of purity and measured consistency to the drugs they are on.

This is a WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN!
