David Gregory Commits Journalistic Malfeasance!

We can't let Norquist re-write American economic history starting in 1980! But David Gregory does just that on MTP today. David, please put your tax history questions in perspective. Today's economy relates to the Depression most closely, so...please point out that....From 1940-80 the wealthiest Americans paid between 70% and 90% in income taxes!

God, after missing the obvious WWII era tax comparison, now Gregory is referencing pre-Civil War history to discuss the presidential race! This is selective amnesia on our true tax history on the part all major media! This can't be an accident, these people aren't uneducated, but it will be a tragedy if we aren't allowed to have an honest discussion of these issues.

SPREAD THE NEWS...From 1940-80 the wealthiest Americans paid between 70% and 90% in income taxes and in fact that's how we built the American Dream. Between 1940-80 we fought and paid for WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, we built our US Interstate Expressway system, Roads, Electrical Grid, Telephone, our main Bridges and Tunnels; we Made every Car we Drove and we wore just the Clothes we Sewed and WE WENT TO THE MOON SIX TIMES-AND WE PAID FOR IT ALL!

There is no other way out of this hole we're in other than to move back in this direction of higher tax rates on the most wealthy...the 1%.

  2. Thanks Art. I've placed a link to your New Arthurian Economics site under my Economics 101 panel. I think it was there before, but was deleted by accident. Keep up the good work! Chip
