What a misleading headline. Syria's chemical weapons haven't been destroyed, they haven't even started.
It would help if one reads the actual link provided in the article for the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), the organization tasked with their destruction, .
It sounds like this task is turning into a giant money pit, oozing corruption.
This is a classic example of liberal misinformation because they know many people only glance at headlines, then run to their computers to declare Obama is great!!!!!!!
When the last combat troops left Iraq about 3 years ago, only Richard Engle from MSNBC was there to honor them all. Nothing was mentioned anywhere else. It was a powerful and important moment, but it had occurred on PBO's watch so...
Same with this amazing victory. I saw a brief note about it. Yes, the chemicals HAVE been destroyed as of last week. Failure to realize tht PBO accomplished this precisely as intended - peacefully and WITH Russian pressure on Syria - is yet another fail.
Deciding that what happened has NOT happened is self defeat. The chemicals have indeed been removed and destroyed, and that's that.
It will probably take longer to destroy the stored chemical weapons. The Vanderheuven article says that the production facilities have been destroyed. That is a large step forward, but not the full success. However, large steps forward should certainly be celebrated.

Can you not read? Or are you just another headline only reader ...
DeleteThe ignorance of you people is breath taking. You absorb propaganda so easily.
Good points! No doubt.
